ABOUT MTTC
We are a group of table tennis players who have a passion for the sport. We noticed that there was a lack of places in central Kent that offered junior coaching and a multi-table venue to practise. After many meetings we are excited to introduce our new Table Tennis club in Maidstone.

HISTORY
Maidstone Table Tennis Club – Our Story
February 2024
Adrian Hall, Claire Moore, and Delyth North met with VIAT senior staff to discuss hiring the new Maidstone School of Science and Technology (SST) sports hall to start a local table tennis club for young people. The second sports hall was not yet built, and the first sports hall was not yet open to the community in the evenings and weekends at this time.
Summer 2024
We agreed a hall hire rate and secured storage. We formulated a small club committee of volunteers and began our fundraising efforts to purchase the equipment needed.
September 2024
We ran a successful fundraising campaign raising nearly £20,000 from personal donors and organisations. Funds were used to purchase 12 tables, barriers, bats, and umpire equipment. This was an amazing start for our club.
December 2024
All equipment from Bribar was delivered and assembled by a group of TT volunteers.
January 2025
We then opened out door to the community, using half the sports hall.
Tuesdays: 6:30–8:00pm Junior Coaching; 8:00–9:30pm Open Session
Thursdays: 7:00–10:00pm Open Session (adults & juniors)
February 2025 – Official Opening
We hosted an official open evening attended by the Mayor of Maidstone, our sponsors, and other VIP guests. The highlight of the event was a demonstration match by Ryan Jenkins and Paul Drinkhall, followed by multi-ball sessions and friendly games with enthusiastic young players and community members throughout the evening. The event was filmed and promoted by Table Tennis England (TTE).

March 2025
Kent County TTA loaned 3 more tables and 50 barriers, making our club a 15-table venue.
Events we have held at our club during our first year:
Kent Junior & Senior Closed
Maidstone & District Closed
Maidstone v Chatham junior friendly
Maidstone TTC junior closed
Junior summer league
Looking Ahead
Six months in, the club continues to thrive. We now hire the entire sports hall two evenings each week and have grown to around 60 members. Several tournaments are already planned for the coming year, and we’re building partnerships with other clubs to host both junior and adult friendly matches. Our junior players are progressing well through regular coaching sessions, and we’re confident the club will keep expanding—attracting players from across Kent to be part of our vibrant table tennis community.

Now back playing competitively, she has been selected to represent Wales again at the Vetts Home Nations Championships in September 2025.
Delyth is also now focused on giving back to the sport she loves, sharing her experience and enthusiasm through coaching juniors.
