Cadet British Club League – Div 3 Winners

The MTTC Cadet team did the club very proud by winning the Division 3 of the Cadet British Club League last week in the final tournament of the season. Fantastic effort from all involved both last week and the previous rounds to build up to this great result – it really shows how all the Juniors are improving in just one year! We won 6-3, 7-2 and all came down to the last match winner takes all where we won 5-4 (nerves of steel). Congratulations on your great performance and to all 6 (Flynn, Raffaele, Kiran, Tristan, Harry K and Daniel) that played in the four Sunday tournaments.

We are hoping to continue this form next season!

Cadet British League – Promotion and Update

Well done again to all the juniors we had playing a the Cadet British League Event. They won their division have been promoted back up to Division 3 for the next, and final, round of the season.

It was such a close competition, it went down to count back on games/points for the promotion. Goes to show every point counts win or lose – great effort.

Delyth makes international comeback with medals

Delyth North, Maidstone Table Tennis Champion and founder member of the New Maidstone Table Tennis Club was excited to be selected to represent Wales at the Veterans Home Nations tournament in Nottingham last weekend 5th – 7th September 2025.

Expressing her delight at being selected she said “It’s about 25 years or more since I represented Wales last … I’ll be playing in the Home Nations again but this time in the VETTS Team”.

Since her selection Delyth has been training hard at the new Maidstone Table Tennis Club and her hard work paid off with Wales getting Bronze in the team event and with teammate Catherine Jones a silver medal in the Doubles.  Delyth commented that it was 30 years ago that she and Catherine last played together for Wales then in the Junior Home Nations.

Returning to the Maidstone club last evening to fulfil her weekly junior coaching duties she thanked everyone for their support and said “I played the best I’ve ever played! Practice obviously works!”.

Delyth is particularly keen for more girls to join the Maidstone club and hopefully follow in her footsteps.
